So I shot this story inspired by the movie The Royal Tenenbaums from Wes Anderson with Sylvain Homo for I Love Fake. I had loads of fun researching it getting pictures of all the outfits of the various characters: Margot Tenenbaum (Gwyneth Paltrow) sort of eternal moody melancholic teenager with her big fur coat and side parting, Richie Tenenbaum (Luke Wilson) the brother in love with her and his ridiculous 70s tennisman look, Eli Cash (Owen Wilson) the blonde douchy guy and his weird cowboy stuff and finally the twin nephews sons of Chas Tenenbaum (Ben Stiller) with their curly afro and Adidas matching tracksuit clothes. It was quite fun to get Alex making all the various wigs, cut them and style them according to each character her did a really good job! Connor who had to get into the role of Margot Tenenbaum was not too happy about his temporary sex change at first.. oops
I dont shoot menswear that often so I really enjoyed styling that story.

I shot this editorial for Neo2 magazine a time that seems like an eternity ago with my friend Adele and photographer Rokas Darulis. It was my first time working with Rokas who I worked again with on l'Officiel shoot. There was such a nice team on this shoot with Philippe Miletto for the make up who is a proper heavy weight MUA who shot with Katie Grand  and  Way Perry to name a few and Liam Curran for the hair who is such a sweet heart and works a lot for i-D. The model was Felix Burnett @FM which I happen to bump in quite a lot out and about in London. I remember asking to Philippe to do some red eye brows and even now its one of the thing that i like the most about this shoot. The red brows.

Sometimes shoots come out so long after you've done them that you've already completely forgot about them. I shot this back in September on the initiative of the photographer Flora Deborah who reached out to me to shoot this story. Her idea was to do something a bit mystical with crystals in it, almost that tumblr trend from 3 years ago.  Obviously finding some real life big crystals, big enough to do a set was a bit of a hard task so I got my friend set designer Aurelie to make us a bunch of cardboard ones. She also did the crazy holly halos you can see on the model, as well as the crown that she is wearing on the horse. Flora was also the one who wanted to use a horse which I was not too keen on because in my mind: fashion pictures + horse = cheesy. Also the model was terrified by horses and wouldnt even want to go near it which made the task a bit harder. In the end I'm quite happy with the whole solarised polaroid effect which makes the whole thing a bit less obvious, and also really like the dark make up: red around the eyes which give a slight creepy doll touch which is quite cool.

THE CAT LADY - VISION

Photography: David Sessions
Styling: Coline Bach
Make up: Suzy Rycroft using SHISHEIDO
Hair: Alex James Fairbairn Using Bumble and Bumble
Model: Anastasia@Premier
Styling Assistant : Emmely Dovaston

I realised I kind of forget to update this blog with my latest stuff. Here is a shoot I styled for Vision China photographed by David Sessions who I shoot with a lot. We had Alex our hairstylist making a wig for Anastasia who has in fact long ginger hair. I saw a really cool illustration of Achraf Amiri with this crazy blond bob and new that was the hair I wanted for the shoot. For the cats there is no proper good excuse really except that I liked the idea of mixing couture clothes and gowns with this absurd hair and this pack of cat. Like a young crazy cat lady. I managed to get some of Edi Slimane's first Saint Laurent collection, this ridiculously gorgeous Dolce & Gabbana FW12 collection, the Chanel Versailles resort collection and a crazy monster coat from Meadham. Not to mention London's finest young designers Siblings with their pompomtastic hat and coat, Tamzin Lillywhite with her lush harnesses and that dreamy pink, purple and black tulle gown from Ryan Lo.
Pretty happy with the result!
